Manage ACM’s outreach effort.

<aside> 💡 The Outreach team is responsible for fostering partnerships with local organizations/schools through content creation on technical topics, with the main focus to expose low-income SDUSD students to coding and computer programming skills. A role in the outreach team requires flexibility and creativity; positions are fluid and are not solely defined by any of the following descriptions. The outreach team meets at least once a week. Our mission is to put ACM on the map for excellent community work and initiate follow-up conversations with the people we collaborate with!

Curriculum Developer

Curriculum Developers create class content suited for different ages and difficulty levels of programming. Developers must find ways to make curricula relevant, interesting, and accessible to the target audience. This includes brainstorming class and workshop topics from basic Python and Scratch to ongoing semester/quarter long projects for students in partnering schools. Developers will be a defining factor in the direction of what we can offer as outreach, and have a lot of flexibility to personalize the curriculum as little or as much as needed. They’re also responsible for drafting curriculum standards and making sure content is age-appropriate and fosters interest in computing.
